Parade Ice Garden, Minneapolis

A couple weekends ago, we had what I called "Mighty Ducks rink weekend!" My son's team took us to 2 rinks that you can see in Disney's Mighty Ducks I & II. Parade Ice Garden is the home of the Ducks rivals Hawks! I loved watching the Mighty Ducks movies growing up so this was really fun to see a few rinks from the movies. 

OK, back to my rating- I was able to watch the game with my jacket unzipped and no blanket. I was pretty comfortable! I did not go and check out the other 2 rinks that this arena has to offer. They do have a total of 3 rinks; 2 NHL size and 1 studio rink. Usually I have plenty of time to check out the arena while waiting for the game to start but this time I took my girls on a little outside adventure before the game!

If your association is like ours, we require our teams to show up 1 hour prior to the start of games. There is a must see landmark in walking distance (if the temps are above zero) of this rink, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Its worth the time to walk over and view the famous Spoonbridge and Cherry and the other sculptures that are outside to view and still get back in time for the start of the game.

Moose Sherritt Ice Arena - Monticello

 ðŸ§ŠðŸ§ŠðŸ§Š This is a rink that we have been to numerous times throughout my sons youth hockey time. They are in our district and this is another rink that sticks out to me and many others. Its not a super cold rink but the thing that sticks out the most to many of us about this rink is that they have a heat pay station. Bleacher Heaters "want to warm up?" 15 minutes for $1 - This is what the sign above the pay station says. As a hockey family we have more than paid our dues and shouldn't have to pay to sit comfortably to watch our children play.  so far, this is the only rink that I have seen this at. There is a heated viewing area on one corner of the rink and that is also where the concession stand is on the upper level. You do have to go up stairs to access the bleachers and concessions. Herb Brooks National Hockey Center - St Cloud

 Main rink: 🧊 Practice rink: 🧊🧊🧊 This is my favorite rink(the main rink)! This is the rink where I learned to love the sport by watching the St. Cloud State University Huskies play. Every weekend home game this is where we would spend our time while in college. We still go to games but we don't have time to go as often as we would like to.  Main rink: This rink gets the best rink rating! No matter when you are there or what you are watching the temp is always prefect! I can be there watching the Huskies play a game, my son play a game or my daughter practice there and I'm always comfortable in just a sweatshirt!  Practice rink: This rink is not my favorite. It's always cold-game or practice. The metal bleacher are horrible and not a lot of seating. The "glass" is very scratched up which making watching or taking pictures very difficult.
