West/Quentin Carlson Memorial Rink(left side) 🧊🧊🧊🧊

We have been to this rink many times throughout the years. There are lots of things that stick out to me and our family about this facility. The biggest and not best memory was during the last game of the tournament last year (Dec 2023) our son got his first and hopefully only concussion. I remember everything about that moment. We were on the east rink and on was on the far end of the rink. He did get up after a few second (felt longer) and skated off.  He did finish the game and didn't start having symptoms until about a couple days after. The weeks following were the hardest. I remember him saying "I just want my head to stop hurting." We were back there again this year just a few days shy of the one year anniversary of this event. 

In the lobby area there is a small sitting area to the left side. The concession is on the left side, 1 or 2 vending machines. The only water bottle filling area is in the lobby, make sure your player fills up their water bottle before they put on their skates. The comfort level in the area is great-take advantage of this area before you enter the west rink. 

East: Nice metal bleachers but the seats are not metal. They have heaters going to keep you comfortable while watching the game. Seating on one side of the rink. 

West: Cold... Metal bleacher and not a lot of seating and only on one side of the rink. The plexiglass is like frosted/horrible quality. I was surprised that the last time that I was there they actually had the heaters on and it was more like a 🧊🧊🧊 but I feel it was a rare thing that the heater was were running.

    Colton had a tournament there this year again and the west rink was actually much warmer than in the past. One game it actually felt warmer than the east rink 😲

    West rink had new bleachers and glass put in. Significantly better, but can still be quite cold if the heaters aren’t on.

 ðŸ§ŠðŸ§ŠðŸ§Š This is a rink that we have been to numerous times throughout my sons youth hockey time. They are in our district and this is another rink that sticks out to me and many others. Its not a super cold rink but the thing that sticks out the most to many of us about this rink is that they have a heat pay station. Bleacher Heaters "want to warm up?" 15 minutes for $1 - This is what the sign above the pay station says. As a hockey family we have more than paid our dues and shouldn't have to pay to sit comfortably to watch our children play.  so far, this is the only rink that I have seen this at. There is a heated viewing area on one corner of the rink and that is also where the concession stand is on the upper level. You do have to go up stairs to access the bleachers and concessions. Herb Brooks National Hockey Center - St Cloud

 Main rink: 🧊 Practice rink: 🧊🧊🧊 This is my favorite rink(the main rink)! This is the rink where I learned to love the sport by watching the St. Cloud State University Huskies play. Every weekend home game this is where we would spend our time while in college. We still go to games but we don't have time to go as often as we would like to.  Main rink: This rink gets the best rink rating! No matter when you are there or what you are watching the temp is always prefect! I can be there watching the Huskies play a game, my son play a game or my daughter practice there and I'm always comfortable in just a sweatshirt!  Practice rink: This rink is not my favorite. It's always cold-game or practice. The metal bleacher are horrible and not a lot of seating. The "glass" is very scratched up which making watching or taking pictures very difficult.
